Welcome, I’m Morgan McComsey-Ogbuefi, BS
MSWI am so glad that you are considering counseling. Sometimes life gets us down and it can be challenging to get back up on our own. Or perhaps, you have tried everything, and nothing has seemed to help. This can be exhausting and discouraging. I believe this is where counseling can be beneficial, and I would love to take that journey with you. I believe that the client is the expert in their own experiences and the therapist is there to guide the healing process. I will listen without judgement to encourage and facilitate healing.
Work experience
I am currently an working here at The Counseling Place and a student at the University of Denver pursuing a master’s degree in social work. This is my second year, and my concentration is focused on mental health and trauma. I have a bachelor’s degree in sociology, specialized in human services through South Dakota State University. I have experience working with adults as a health coach assisting people with weight loss and weight management, working with families through Child Protective Services, working with adolescents and adults at a behavioral health hospital on the psychiatric unit, as well as working with the aging population at a nursing home as a social work intern. My hope is that with my education and experience working with people of various backgrounds, concerns, and with history of mental illness and trauma, I can help facilitate change towards the healing process.
