Welcome, I’m Morgan McComsey-Ogbuefi, SWC, LSW, EMDR
Does it feel like you have tried everything, yet nothing has helped? This can be exhausting and discouraging. For others, perhaps you would like to get on top of a situation before it escalates into something worse. I am glad you are considering counseling. As a therapist, I believe counseling can be beneficial for a wide range of experiences, and I would like to take that journey with you. I believe that the client is an expert in their own life, and the therapist is there to guide the healing process. I strive to provide a safe, nonjudgmental environment to encourage and facilitate healing at your own pace, in addition to building resilience and strengthening coping skills. My personal philosophy statement is, “to help others break barriers to achieving their best possible self.”

Professional Experiences
I obtained a master’s degree in social work (MSW) from the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Social Work, and I am a Licensed Social Worker (LSW). I have experience working with teens and adults with mental illness and trauma history, in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I have worked with the ageing population, with families through Child Protective Services, and as a health coach. I most enjoy working with individuals with a history of trauma, as well as facilitating couples’ counseling.
I hope that with my education and experience in working with people of various backgrounds, concerns, and histories of mental illness and trauma, I can help facilitate change towards the healing process.
