Welcome, I’m Lindsey Shearer, MA and LPCC

Teen and Child Counseling

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I know that there are many options of therapists and finding the right fit for you or your child can feel overwhelming. You may also be experiencing overwhelm trying to figure out how to help your child in the challenges they face. You may feel like they are slipping through your fingertips and you cannot get through to them, or lost as to where to start. That is where My role as a therapist comes in! I will help your child peel back the layers of what is occurring in their life and help them work towards achieving their goals. Counseling helps us understand more effective ways to communicate, how to relate to the world around us, and how to give life a sense of meaning. It helps us identify areas that may be holding us back from our best self.

I have a client-centered lens in therapy, although I believe each individual is unique and may require an integrative approach. I have tools from several modalities depending on what my clients need. I would like to learn more about how I can help you in achieving your goals and grow through this process. I offer a warm, nonjudgmental space where we can work through life’s challenges together.
I spend my free time with my husband, daughter, and dog. I love skiing, hiking, camping, yoga, running, and live music. Feel free to contact me if you have additional questions or would like to schedule an appointment.

Work Experience

I have spent over 7 years working in mental health, specifically with children, adolescents, and their families at the Children’s Hospital Colorado. My primary focus has been working with youth and young adults struggling with issues around anxiety, depression, self-harm, anger, and self-esteem. I worked in the Anxiety Intensive Outpatient program using exposure therapy with kids and teens for years, which has been a passion of mine in counseling. I graduated with my Master of Arts in Counseling from Regis University and worked as a clinical intern for the affordable counseling program at People House. I worked with adults during my internship and completed trainings in family therapy, play therapy, and couples counseling.
